Recruiting Trial

Can a sheepskin rug help reduce or prevent bedsores for people confined to bed?

My grandmother suffered a stroke 5 years ago and is cared for at home. She previously suffered persistent bedsores until a sheepskin rug was placed in her bed for her to lie on 3 years ago. She has her bare skin in direct contact with the wool which we hypothesise reduces the impact of her bodyweight on the bed. Every couple of days the whole sheepskin is washed in the washing machine and the back of her nightie is cut along her midsagittal plane so she looks fully dressed. She was a sheep farmer so luckily had a lot of sheepskin rugs handy
